Agile2018: my opportunity to learn
Both Alan and I have been fortunate to have been selected to deliver a workshop at Agile2018 in San Diego. Whilst it will be a great opportunity for us to talk about how personas and roles can help bolster exploratory testing, it will also be an opportunity to learn from our peers on a wide range of agile topics.
The programme has been published and there are a lot of interesting talks and workshops, but here are a few notable ones that I'm looking forward to:

When working with teams that are looking to adopt BDD approaches, there is often concern about around remote working. Is it possible to successfully collaborate when teams are located in different places? I’m looking forward to this experience report to discover new techniques that I can use to encourage communication between remote teams.
Coaching teams towards a BDD approach means I need to have an understanding from all perspectives including testers, developers and product owner's. I’m hoping Bob’s session will give me further insight into the mind of a product owner to appreciate what their goals are.
Sometimes it’s good to go back to basics, challenge your assumptions and get different perspectives on approaches to coaching and facilitation. That is exactly what I hope to gain from this workshop and maybe learn a few new tricks and tips that I can use in our BDD training events.
Allison Pollard, Cherie Silas
Communication is key with teams that practise BDD so I am always interested in learning new ideas and perspectives when it comes to the practice of successful communication. I’ve heard a little bit about direct communication techniques and I’m keen to learn more about how I can use it and facilitate others to use it.

There are many ways in which we can discover examples and capture them during conversations. So I am very interested in what techniques Ken has to offer us. Plus I get to solve world hunger!
I’ve recently read some interesting material around coaches measuring their approaches to training and well being by sharing with each other. I’m hoping to learn more about how I can keep an eye on my own emotions when coaching to ensure I deliver quality training.
Shared examples in collaborative discussions are a form of storytelling, something that is very close to my heart given my previous experiences as a tester. Sharing stories can sometimes be difficult so I am looking forward to learning some new techniques and approaches towards sharing.

Llewellyn is one of the few developers I know who has successfully crossed the divide of product, testing and development. I’ve been fortunate to work with him in the past and look forward to hearing his insights into BDD.
